What is paragraph three actually about? The sentences are pretty, but if I had to summarize the paragraph in five words, I couldn't.

It's about how the lab felt different after my mentor left.

Good — write that sentence first, then build the paragraph back around it. Want me to draft a version?

The lab was the same, but it was also different in a way that was hard to explain.
+After Dr. Reyes left, the lab still smelled of ethanol and burnt agar, but no one fixed the autoclave timer.

Built for the whole cycle

Not just personal statements. Common App, UC PIQs, Oxbridge PS, supplements, recs, activity descriptions — every essay archetype is a bundled skill.

Cohort-aware

Each student is a separate folder with their own resume, schools, voice, and drafts. Switch context in one click. Nothing crosses between students.

Holds the whole context

Nux reads the full draft, the prompt, prior versions, and student profile every time. No more pasting snippets into a chat tab.

Diffs, not paragraphs

Edits arrive as targeted changes you accept or reject. The student's voice survives every coaching pass.

Local-first, FERPA-friendly

Student data stays on the consultancy's machine. The only network call is to your chosen LLM provider. No Nux server in the middle.

Versioned on disk

Every accepted edit becomes a new draft alongside the old one. Counselors and students can roll back, compare, audit.

Eighteen students.
One Fall cycle.
Every voice intact.

Independent consultancies and college-access programs use Nux to run the entire application season from one window. Cohort intake, essay coaching, supplement drafting, deadline tracking, branded handoff — all without losing the individual voice of any student.

  • Per-student folders, threads, and version history
  • Bundled essay-coaching skills you can extend per consultancy
  • Cohort dashboard with deadline + status tracking
  • Branded annotated-draft exports for parents & the student
  • No student data leaves the consultancy's machine

Common questions.

How is Nux different from ChatGPT for essay coaching?

Nux holds the entire student profile in context: resume, target schools, prompt, every prior draft. ChatGPT-in-a-tab sees only the snippet you pasted. Nux also ships with essay-archetype skills (Common App, UC PIQs, Oxbridge PS, supplements) so it coaches like a counselor, not a generalist model.

What does an 'application-season workspace' actually mean?

One folder per student. Inside: their resume, brag sheet, target school list, prompts, every draft of every essay, and a thread per essay. Counselors see a cohort dashboard across all students with status, deadlines, and blockers. Nothing lives in a spreadsheet anymore.

Is student data safe?

Drafts and notes live on the consultancy's machine. The only network call Nux makes is to the LLM provider you chose (Anthropic, DeepSeek, etc.). There is no Nux server. Pair with your existing client agreements for full FERPA-friendly handling.

What providers does Nux work with?

Anthropic Claude (recommended for essay work), DeepSeek, MiniMax, Z.AI, and OpenRouter. You can also point at a custom endpoint via Settings.

How long to onboard a new consultancy?

Most consultancies are running their first student in under 15 minutes. Importing a full cohort (resumes, target schools, prior drafts) typically takes one afternoon.

What's the pricing for consultancies?

The app is free and open-source under MIT. You only pay for LLM tokens — typically a few dollars per student per season. Consultancy plans add shared cohorts, branded exports, SSO, and priority support; contact us for a quote.

Does Nux write the essay for the student?

No. Nux coaches, suggests targeted diffs, and asks the questions a good counselor would. The student's voice stays the student's voice — which is the entire point of admissions essays, and what every admissions officer is reading for.
